چکیده

This paper describes the modeling part of the project CODAC (Modeling and Querying COntent Description and Quality Adaptation Capabilities of Audio-Visual Data). The CODAC project defines a common framework for modeling content information and quality adaptation capabilities of audio-visual data. Descriptions which are indexed and then stored in a metadatabase, will finally be encoded as an MPEG-7 description. Such a model enables us to provide active components with valuable information to govern or enhance their media scaling, buffering, and caching policies on the delivery path to the client (network routers

Media Resource Adaptation for Multimedia Services and Streaming Media for Mobile Telephones

Nowadays an intensive diversification can be experienced among the devices that can display multimedia content to the user. Typically, clients are unable to receive large audio-visual data volumes in original quality because of resource limitations and deficiency of terminal capabilities. The aim of media resource adaptation is to provide multimedia items for users in a format that is most appr...

The Intersemiotic Study of Translation from Page to Stage: The Farsi Translation of Macbeth for Stage Adaptation from the Perspective of Peirceʼs Model

Intersemiotic translation, which can happen in the process of the translation of drama for theatre, can turn more complicated when the verbal sign system of drama has already undergone interlingual translation. The purpose of this study is to find the intersemiotic changes of translation from page to stage and to show the changes of indexical, iconic, and symbolic signs in the process of inters...

Modeling Audio and Visual Cues

Audio-visual event detection aims to identify semantically defined events that reveal human activities. Most previous literature focused on restricted highlight events, and depended on highly ad-hoc detectors for these events. This research emphasizes generalizable robust modeling of single-microphone audio cues and/or single-camera visual cues for the detection of real-world events, requiring ...

Adaptive Rendering of 3D Models Over Networks Using Multiple Modalities

Content adaptation for the delivery of multimedia data such as text, images, audio, and video has been extensively studied in recent years. In contrast, techniques for adaptive delivery of 3D models to clients with different rendering capabilities and network connections are just beginning to emerge. In this paper we describe the principles involved in the design and development of an adaptive ...
